Blair MalcolmManaging Director
As founder of Recon Security, Blair brings the ideal mix of management and technical expertise to his role as MD, with over 25 years of practical security and military experience. Blair is responsible for the client relationship and commercial management of contracts which includes ensuring that financial and quality requirements are met.
Pat AversAuckland Operations Manager
With over 27 years experience in the security industry, Pat is responsible for the operational and supervisory services for Recon Security’s contracts in Auckland. With diligence and professionalism, Pat works by spending a lot of time out in the field with his team, giving him a clear understanding of contract requirements and client needs. His expertise in the field helped him start up the Auckland branch of Recon Security, building it up to be a productive and successful chapter of Recon.
Denis RoetsWellington Operations Manager
Thorough and open-minded, Denis brings with him over 35 years experience and is a huge asset to Recon’s Executive Management team. His health and safety qualifications have equipped him with the skills to fully understand client requirements and lead an effective, efficient team to produce positive outcomes throughout the Wellington region. Denis loves working with people and is an expert in the security industry.
Peter JonesSales Manager
With more than 20 years in the security industry, Peter is widely regarded as an expert in his field. His broad spectrum of experience includes work in Residential, Business, Commercial, Industrial, Government and Education. Peter specialises in Alarm systems / CCTV systems / Access control / Smoke & Fire detection / Lone worker GPRS devices / Alarm monitoring / Guard Services – mobile patrols / static guards / event security. Testimony to this is the ongoing long-term relationships he maintains to this day with customers that stretches back over the years. He works with an old school approach – gaining an understanding of customers issues then offering the best solutions, with honesty and professionalism.
David ChamberlainBusiness Development Manager (Auckland)
With over 30 years experience in the Auckland security market, David has never lost his passion for the industry. With a deserved reputation for honesty and integrity, David’s skillset is broad and varied, encompassing account management, resource coordination, security vetting, sales, security risk assessment and an exhaustive knowledge of Health and Safety regulations. His commitment to meeting client’s needs is complemented by his comprehensive understanding of security operations, and dedication to the industry, making him an invaluable member of the management team.

As the Business Development Manager of Recon Wellington, Andrew is committed to helping businesses reduce their risk and improve overall security. Brian PatchFinancial Manager
Brian has a diverse set of skills after 30 years in finance across both the public and private sectors within corporate and smaller entities. With a vision of simplification, accuracy and accountability, Brian is responsible for the financial management of the business, and is fully involved in managing all aspects of Recon’s financial transactions and accounting procedures.
Rik AndersonGeneral Manager
Since March 2019 Recon Security’s General Manager, Rik, has been focused on client-based initiatives involving improving operational efficiency and optimizing new technologies to advance the company. With over 30 years in NZ Defence, Rik brings operational and logistics experience, with a broad spectrum of delivery outcomes including hospitality, security, infrastructure, human resources and personnel management. Rik has a passionate and honest approach which has made him an invaluable addition to Recon Security.
Chantel FisherBusiness Development Manager (Wellington)
With sales experience spanning over 20 years, and a background in management and public relations, Chantel is dedicated to ensuring our clients are taken care of, from start to finish. At Recon, Chantel takes care of electronic, guard and patrol sales, and secures the best solutions to any requirements our customers may have.
