Blair MalcolmManaging Director
As founder of Recon Security, Blair brings the ideal mix of management and technical expertise to his role as MD, with over 25 years of practical security and military experience. Blair is responsible for the client relationship and commercial management of contracts which includes ensuring that financial and quality requirements are met.
Tony FitzgeraldBusiness Development Manager
Tony Fitzgerald joins the team as Recon’s Business Development Manager. Tony brings with him over 35 years of sales, sales management and marketing experience. He has worked with success across a broad spectrum of industries which includes FMCG, automotive, advertising, consultancy and most recently in the charity sector working with the Child Cancer Foundation. Tony looks forward to bringing his skills in sales, presentation and negotiation to the business as well as working with and adding to the team culture that currently exists within Recon.
Johnny TaitAuckland Service Delivery Manager
Johnny Tait is Recon’s Service Delivery Manager for Auckland. Johnny brings with him 30 years’ experience in both security and sales and 20 years in operations and retail management. Johnny works with a client-focused approach and is especially skilled in customer service as a result of his 30+ years working with clients and customers. Johnny’s strengths lie in his ability to lead staff in a way that is well-aligned with Recon’s core values: Professionalism, accountability, and teamwork.
Joe O'BoyleQuality Control Manager
Joe O'Boyle is Recon’s Quality Control and Events Manager. Joe brings with him an extensive background in sales/retail and customer service-focused roles. Joe is responsible for ensuring that the quality of our service and performance of our front-line staff is on par with our clients' security needs and expectations.
Gregory BucktonBusiness Development Manager
Gregory (Greg) Buckton is Recon’s Technical Services Manager. Greg has been in the Security Industry for over 25 years and brings with him extensive experience across Technical, Guarding, Monitoring Centre, Call Centre and fleet departments. Placing an emphasis on team-building and leadership, Greg has worked with success across various managerial and supervisor roles in South Africa and most recently, New Zealand. Previously tasked with the responsibility of managing large teams of guard forces, Greg has developed his leaderships skills to reflect flexibility and adaptability and aims to bring these assets to the Recon team.
Bryce Tietjens General Manager
Bryce brings with him over a decade of management experience and has recently joined Recon as General Manager. Bryce is an experienced Senior Manager with a demonstrated history of working in the facilities services, security and charity industries. Skilled in negotiation, budgeting, business planning, management, mentoring and building strong long term partnerships.
Tom Moody Wellington Service Delivery Manager
With over 15 years’ experience in management, and 7 years in the security industry, Tom is responsible for leading our effective and efficient team to produce positive outcomes throughout the Wellington region. Tom has a demonstrated history of working knowledge in the security industry with a background in Operations Management. At Recon he provides an excellent understanding of customer service and client requirements that is well-reflected in his leadership skills.
Brian PatchFinancial Manager
Brian has a diverse set of skills after 30 years in finance, spending 10 years in London in the British Council financial sector and the last 18 years as a Share broker’s Finance Manager. With a vision of simplification, accuracy and accountability, Brian is responsible for the financial management of the business, and is fully involved in managing all aspects of Recon’s financial transactions and accounting procedures.
Peter JonesSenior Security Advisor
With more than 20 years in the security industry, Peter is widely regarded as an expert in his field. His broad spectrum of experience includes work in Residential, Business, Commercial, Industrial, Government and Education. Peter specialises in Alarm systems / CCTV systems / Access control / Smoke & Fire detection / Lone worker GPRS devices / Alarm monitoring / Guard Services - mobile patrols / static guards / event security. Testimony to this is the ongoing long-term relationships he maintains to this day with customers that stretches back over the years. He works with an old school approach - gaining an understanding of customers issues then offering the best solutions, with honesty and professionalism.
