Will I pay more for a Recon security Guard than your competitors?

Because Recon is New Zealand owned, we have lower overheads that most of our competitors and even though we have a higher calibre of staff we have very competitive rates.

Do you pay guards the living wage?

Paying staff a fair wage is important to us and paying the living wage is our preference.

Are you licensed Private Investigators

Yes, Recon Security are licensed PI' company. We employee ex Police and 2 senior staff are licensed by the Ministry of Justice as Private Investigators

Can you provide services around the country?

Yes, Recon have offices in Auckland and Wellington and provide services in all main centres.

Which is the best method to monitor an alarm?

The normal (PSTN) phone network is the most common and reliable. Having a cellular connection, as long as there is network coverage is also reliable but relies on a sim card. Using the internet is the cheapest, but relies on your router and broadband connection being available 24 hours a day.

How long does it take to get a security officer to respond to my alarm?

Recon Security targets a sub-10 minute response for clients. We are able to achieve this through having multiply vehicles on the road every night, providing both monitoring and response services in-house and using technology we have developed for rapid response.

IS ALARM MONITORING EXPENSIVE?

Basic alarm monitoring via a landline costs about $1.00 a day. Compared to the cost of a burglary, unattended fire or malicious damage this is a minimal charge.

Do I want digital or and analogue camera system?

Analogue camera systems are old technology and production by manufactures is reducing. Digital systems are comparable in price, have more and improved features with significantly better image quality.

HOW DO I KNOW IF THE SECURITY PATROLS HAVE BEEN DONE?

Using the latest technology, Recon installs tracking devices throughout your building which document when and where we’ve been.  This information is passed on to the police in the event of a security breach.

Can I log in & view my CCTV system remotely?

Yes – pretty much all CCTV systems now have remote log in options that enables both live viewing or recorded footage access.
